~Black Bean Patties~

Black Bean Burger Patties 

1.5 cups Rolled Oats (+.5 cup more if you’re not using breadcrumbs) 

1 cup Boiled Black beans (half smushed)

1 cup boiled mixed Beans (kidney+pinto+red) 

1 cup corn 

1 cup chopped mixed colored peppers 

1/2 cup chopped carrots 

1/2 cup shredded Hot peppers (Jalapeños or Pickled Hot peppers)

1 cup breadcrumbs (optional) 

Seasoning: 

1 tbsp Hot sauce of your choice

1 tbsp Italian Seasoning mix

1 tbsp Ajwain (caraway seeds) 

1 tbsp Fennel seeds 

1 tbsp Garam Masala 

1 tbsp Kitchen King Masala (optional) 

1/2 tbsp chaat masala

1 tbsp chilli powder 

1/2 tbsp Turmeric powder 

1/2 tbsp black pepper 

1/2 tbsp Chile lime seasoning 

Salt to taste

2 tbsp oil 

Method: 

  • Make sure all the beans are half way mashed up with your hands and leave some whole to get the bind right. 
  • Mix in the rest of the ingredients and bind, shape into round patties. 
  • Coat both sides with oil and bake on 370 for 15 minutes on each side or until they seem a little cooked on both sides.
  • Cool on room temperature for 20-30 minutes and store/ freeze to use for Fajitas, burgers and wraps!
